Bespoke programmes
We welcome opportunities to talk to teachers and bring their ideas into action
Field Studies
There are stacks of opportunities for Field Studies near our Centres including coastal succession, the prime glacial landscape areas, the Highland Boundary Fault line, agricultural landscapes, or multiple-use areas such as the National Parks or Pentland Hills.
SOEC can help you access the areas where you can visit wind and hydro power sites.
Whether you are looking for historical, geographical, cultural sites, or wish to explore habitats of scientific significance, we can get your pupils into outdoor learning areas safely.
Senior School Leadership
Our activities can be used to develop skills including communication, teamwork and problem solving. Combined with the development of qualities such as confidence, resilience, and a positive growth mind-set, this combination is vital for young people to develop leadership roles in the school, in their community and in the work place.
Brilliant Winter Residentials
Residentials provide benefits at any time of the year. Some schools come for a residential early in the term to enable the class to benefit from improved relationships through the rest of the year. Autumn, winter and spring are also good times for star gazing, nature safaris and camp fires. “After Christmas and New Year, the city can seem a bit drab so bringing the kids to the Centres is a great boost for them.” Teacher from a Glasgow primary.
SOEC are happy to provide School Talks to parents and pupils prior to your visit. Please get in touch if you would like to do this. This can coincide with an opportunity for a pre-meeting with teachers to outline the specific learning and development outcomes you are looking for.
We provide Certificates of Attendance for pupils and students. All SOEC Tutors engage in reviewing during activities and this can be brought together in personalised Certificates which enable pupils to record their outcomes in terms of e.g. the 4 Capacities.
Don’t forget, our return on investment has been determined to be 1: 11 so you can be sure your pupils and student will benefit from an immersive outdoor learning residential with SOEC.
