SOEC is pleased to support the Year of Fieldwork which is running during the academic year 2015-16.

Belmont, Broomlee and Dounans are excellent locations from which to base your fieldwork residential. Our qualified Tutor staff can assist with access into hills or lead canoe expeditions to gather data.  Each of the Centres has a number of classroom areas suitable for indoor analysis.  Please talk to us about your needs – we will do our best to meet them.  01899 221115

A Message from Our Chief Executive

As a sustainable development practitioner, I am conscious of the need to enthuse, inspire and motivate young people about the world we live in and depend upon.

We need to develop young geographers, biologists, historians and others to know more about the earth’s cycles, and the interconnections between the landscape and environment and plants, animals and us.  We need young people who see the opportunities in change and not just the threats.

The staff teams at SOEC are constantly working to devise and deliver innovative programmes and activities that make contemporary issues and subject areas, both exciting and relevant to young people.

Whether you’re a primary or secondary teacher, college or University lecture, or whether you’re interested in discrete subject areas or in developing integrated approaches, we welcome opportunities to collaborate with you to develop exciting fieldwork opportunities.

Please contact us to explore how together, we can create amazing fieldwork for young people.
