Our Tutor Staff
SOEC employs over 80 people across Scotland, most of whom are tutors working directly with our customers on a range of activities, training programmes and off-site expeditions.
Our current tutors come from all around the world. Some have education and environmental backgrounds, whilst others have a grounding in the outdoor activities sector.
One of the attractions for tutor staff who work at Scottish Outdoor Education Centres is that a high priority is placed on training and development. All staff receive a minimum of three weeks training covering first aid, activities, and the environment, as well as soft skills which are such a vital part of delivering the SOEC experience. Where a national governing body award exists for an activity, our staff must hold this qualification as a minimum.
In addition all our staff are fully aware of child protection issues and have undergone an enhanced disclosure check or overseas equivalent.
