Our Centres
SOEC has 4 residential outdoor education centres each situated in pleasant rural surroundings and within easy reach of the major towns and cities in Scotland.
See below for further details on each Centre.

Belmont

Located in the valley of Strathmore, Perthshire, Belmont Centre is situated in an estate of 100 acres of outstanding beauty.

Broomlee

Located 14 miles south of Edinburgh, Broomlee Centre still retains a truly rural atmosphere. Set within more than 30 acres of grounds at the foot of the Pentland Hills, the Centre offers a broad programme of activities to all visiting groups which include schools, youth groups, special needs, university, corporate and large events with more than 800 participants.

Loaningdale

Loaningdale is the smallest of SOEC's Centres and this lends it an intimate, welcoming atmosphere. As accommodation is uniquely self-contained, groups often have exclusive use of the Centre.

Dounans

Set in the heart of the Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Dounans is SOEC's busiest and largest Centre.

Glengonnar

Glengonnar Centre, based at Abington in South Lanarkshire, is one of SOEC's oldest Centres, purchased in 1940. Located on the banks of the Clyde, Glengonnar has hosted school groups for over 45 years.
